The American Red Cross is where people mobilize to help their neighbors - across the street, across the country, and across the world - in emergencies. During 2011, blizzards, wildfires, flooding, hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes took a toll of much of the country. The Red ross helped provide relief, with food and shelter, clean-up suppleis and emotional support. In the past nine months, the Red Cross launched 119 disaster relief operations across 42 states and territories to help people affected by natural disasters.
